Minshew Takes Over Starting Role

The Arizona Cardinals have officially chosen veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew as their new starting quarterback. The team made the announcement on Monday, confirming a major change at the position for the upcoming week of competition.

Minshew will take over the starting job from Jacoby Brissett. His first official start in this new role will come this Sunday when the Cardinals travel to face Seattle.

Sparking The Comeback

The decision to start Minshew comes directly after his impressive performance in last week's game against the Dallas Cowboys. He entered the game late in the third quarter to replace Brissett on the field.

Arizona was trailing 17-3 at the exact moment the quarterback switch took place. Up to that point, the offense had struggled to finish drives, failing to score a touchdown on its first two trips inside the red zone.

Minshew provided a strong spark for the team as soon as he stepped onto the field. His play helped initiate a come from behind effort. Arizona eventually closed out the game with a 33-30 win in overtime.

Impressive Stats In Relief

Minshew was particularly effective when the team pushed deep into opposition territory. He managed to score three times inside the 20 yard line to turn the game around.

He finished the match with 188 passing yards and threw three touchdowns through the air. That strong display in relief helped turn a 17-3 deficit into an overtime win.

Moving Forward To Seattle

Following Monday's announcement, the Cardinals are now moving forward with Minshew as the main man under center. Brissett will move to the bench after starting the previous game.

All attention now turns to Sunday's game at Seattle. Minshew will get the nod to lead the offense from the first whistle as Arizona aims to build on their latest victory.
