A Big Chance in Spain

The Atlanta Falcons are heading to Spain for a massive game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The contest takes place this Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid. For Atlanta, this is more than just a regular game. Running back Bijan Robinson believes this match could be the spark the team needs to fix their season.

The Falcons currently hold a 3-5 record. They are coming off a difficult shutout loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. Robinson described the upcoming game as a playoff type atmosphere. He said that this game right here is something that can be a culture changer in the building. It is a chance for the team to see what they are made of as they try to stay in the hunt.

Stars Looking for Form

Both Robinson and quarterback Michael Penix Jr. are looking for better performances this weekend. Robinson has not scored a touchdown since his 59 yard run against the New Orleans Saints on October 5. Even though he averages 122.9 scrimmage yards per game, he feels he can do more. Robinson admitted that he does not feel like he is playing at his best right now and said he needs to be better for the offense.

Penix Jr. also has a point to prove. He struggled last week against Tampa Bay, throwing four interceptions. Speaking at Real Madrid's practice facility, he said he wants to win games and takes responsibility for the recent loss. He noted that when a game goes poorly, he points the finger at himself. The young quarterback is determined to lead his team to a win against a strong Bengals side.

The Challenge of Joe Burrow

The Cincinnati Bengals arrive in Madrid with a 5-2 record and are hunting for their fourth win in a row. They are led by star quarterback Joe Burrow. Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski knows exactly what to expect from this opponent. Before joining Atlanta, he coached the Cleveland Browns and faced the Bengals often in the AFC North.

Stefanski finished his time in Cleveland with a 7-5 record against Cincinnati. He said it is a different deal when facing Burrow and the Bengals offense. He highlighted the need to be fully prepared for what they can do on the field. The Falcons have lost three of their last four games. They are trying to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2017. This weekend in Spain will show if they can handle the pressure.
