The Scary Collision

Atlanta Falcons rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels was carted off the field with a neck injury during Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. The incident happened in the third quarter after a pass completion from Caleb Williams to Colston Loveland.

Daniels tried to tackle Loveland and his head appeared to collide with the tight end's left leg near the knee. He stayed down on the turf for a long time while medical staff rushed over to help.

Medical Staff Response

Medical personnel stabilized the neck and body of Daniels before placing him onto a gurney and loading him onto a cart. Falcons players and coaches stood close by to wish him well as he left the field.

On the way off, Daniels raised his left hand to make a fist. The game was paused with the Bears leading 21-7 and 8 hours and 48 minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Impact on the Defense

Daniels joined the team as a fourth round draft pick out of Oklahoma and has started every game since Week 1. He was wearing the green dot as the defensive play caller because Divine Deablo was out with an arm injury.

After Daniels went down, linebacker Josh Woods stepped in to take over the green dot responsibility for the remainder of the contest.
