Third Consecutive Loss for City

Manchester City suffered a 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, marking their third straight Premier League loss. City had won their first seven league games of the season, but recent defeats to Aston Villa, Brighton, and now Forest have derailed their momentum. The result leaves City six points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Forest took control early at the City Ground. Goals from Jair Cunha and Liam Delap put the hosts 2-0 up inside the first 18 minutes. Rayan Cherki pulled one back for City after the half time break with a fine strike. However, Delap added his second goal on a counter attack to seal the victory for Forest.

Maresca Calls for Calm and Balance

City manager Enzo Maresca admitted he is concerned about the team's current form, but he urged everyone to remain balanced. Maresca said he is always concerned, even when his team wins matches. He pointed out that after winning seven straight matches, dropping three in a row requires a calm analysis.

The upcoming international break offers City time to fix their problems. Maresca stated that the coaching staff will use the break to understand how to improve and avoid similar performances in future matches.

Double Injury Blow at the Half

Adding to City's problems, Maresca had to make two changes at half time because of injuries. Both Marc Guéhi and Josko Gvardiol asked to come off. Guéhi picked up an injury during the match, while Gvardiol was already dealing with an issue from earlier in the week.

Delap Shines for Nottingham Forest

The win was a huge moment for Nottingham Forest under new manager Oliver Glasner. Forest had won only one of their first nine games before facing City. Striker Liam Delap, who joined Forest in a club record move from Chelsea, scored a double. He had previously scored just once in eight appearances.

Glasner praised Delap after the match, noting that the striker did very well. However, Glasner added that Delap still needs to improve his heading, box movement, and work out of possession. Glasner also sprinted down the touchline to celebrate Delap's second goal, joking that since his players ran six or seven kilometres more than City, he had to outrun Maresca as well.
