Playing Through the Pain

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter is preparing to play with a cast on his injured right wrist this Sunday. The Eagles face the Tennessee Titans in a Week 2 matchup, and Carter does not expect the injury to hold him back.

Carter spoke about the adjustments he will need to make on the field. He said it is pretty much nothing and just a cast. He added that he will still have to strike, grab, play the run and pass rush, and that he cannot let it affect him.

How the Injury Happened

The injury occurred during last week's game against the Commanders. Carter hurt his wrist while trying to punch the ball out of the hands of Terry McLaurin after a fourth quarter reception.

The 25 year old defensive tackle had to sit out of practice on Wednesday. However, he returned as a limited participant on Thursday while wearing his new cast.

Carter is a major part of the Eagles defense. He has made the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons. In July, he signed a four year extension worth 153 million dollars. He leads a strong defensive tackle group that also includes Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo.

Other Eagles Injury Updates

The Eagles are dealing with a few other injury concerns ahead of the game. Defensive back Cooper DeJean is dealing with calf and abdomen issues, while edge rusher Jonathan Greenard has a pectoral injury. Both players were limited in Thursday's practice.

In addition, safety Andrew Mukuba did not practice on Thursday due to a knee injury. The team will monitor these players as they get closer to Sunday's game.
