A Big Blow to the Offensive Line

The Philadelphia Eagles are facing a tough stretch ahead without one of their key offensive linemen. Three-time Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson is going on injured reserve due to a knee injury. This decision means he will miss at least the next four games.

Dickerson himself confirmed the news during an appearance on his radio show. The lineman agreed with the decision to sit out, admitting that he was not playing at his best. The Eagles managed to win their season opener 24-22 against Washington, but Dickerson was unhappy with his own performance.

Struggles and Recovery Plans

Dickerson was highly critical of his play in the opening game. He stated that he played poorly and called himself a complete liability. He added that it was his fault and that he should not be on the field until he feels fully healthy.

This knee injury is unrelated to his past joint issues. Dickerson explained that he got rolled up on during a practice a few weeks ago. He has dealt with lower body injuries in the past, including meniscus surgery in August 2025. He even traveled to Columbia for stem cell therapy during the offseason to help his recovery.

However, he did not look like his usual self during training camp or against the Commanders. Going on injured reserve will give him time to heal. Dickerson said the best plan is to get healthy now so he can have a strong run at the end of the season.

With Dickerson out, the Eagles will look to Drew Kendall to step up. Kendall was a fifth-round draft pick out of Boston College in 2025. He had a strong offseason and is the leading candidate to fill the gap in the starting lineup. Coach Nick Sirianni praised Dickerson's toughness but noted the team has areas to fix.
