A Desperate Move In Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Dodgers find themselves facing a massive mountain to climb. Trailing 3-0 in their best of seven series, the team is running out of time. History is not on their side either, as only one baseball team has ever overcome such a deficit.

Manager Dave Roberts decided to shake things up for Thursday's game. He moved Shohei Ohtani right back to the top of the lineup. This comes despite the Milwaukee Brewers starting left hander Shane Drohan on the mound.

Ohtani Pushes For Playing Time

Earlier in the week, Roberts planned to give Ohtani a rest day to help his body recover. However, Roberts noted that Ohtani was adamant and convicted that he was figuring out his mechanics and could still help the squad.

Ohtani showed some positive signs on Wednesday despite a 6-2 loss. He reached base on a walk and a hit by pitch, and also smacked a sharp single up the middle.

Seeking A Spark In The Postseason

The Dodgers have really struggled to hit the ball in this postseason. The team has only two extra base hits in three games against the Brewers, and their overall performance has dropped significantly.

Ohtani himself has not homered since August, picking up just four singles in his playoff at bats. Even so, Roberts believes putting him at the very top gives the team the best chance to win.
