Dick Vitale Backs Tampa Bay Rays For World Series Success

Famous Broadcaster Backs Tampa Bay

Dick Vitale is ready to support the Tampa Bay Rays in person as they prepare for World Series action at Tropicana Field. The legendary sports commentator will be sitting in his regular spot above the visitors dugout for Game 3 on Monday.

Vitale has been a dedicated supporter of the team since Tampa received an expansion franchise in the 1990s. He bought season tickets before the Rays played their first season in 1998, and he has kept them ever since. He also supports other local teams including the Buccaneers and the Lightning.

Vitale explained his strong connection to the local teams, saying that loyalty is very important to him. He mentioned that he loves baseball and enjoys going to the games to meet players and have a great time.

From New York Fan To Florida Loyal

Growing up in New Jersey, Vitale was born nearly 60 years before the Rays played their first year. As a child, he supported the New York Yankees and Mickey Mantle. He spent time watching legendary players like Duke Snider and Willie Mays at famous venues including Yankee Stadium, Ebbets Field, and the Polo Grounds.

His career in coaching and broadcasting eventually brought him to live in Florida. Once he settled in the area, he committed fully to the local sports scene.

His interest in the Rays goes beyond simple attendance. He follows individual players closely, including Evan Longoria and Junior Caminero. He even knows home run statistics for Caminero over the past two seasons off the top of his head.

World Series Prediction And Social Media Support

Vitale shows his passion online too. During this postseason, the Rays have played nine games. Vitale has posted on social media 32 times since the playoff run began, making at least one post for every single game. When the team won the American League pennant against the Cleveland Guardians on Monday, he shared six posts about the victory.

Now, Tampa Bay faces the Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series. Despite many people favoring Milwaukee, Vitale is sticking with his team. He stated that he is backing the Rays to win the series in seven games, and he promised to be present at every home game.
