Henry Guides Young Star Allen
Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry has taken New York Jets running back Braelon Allen under his wing. The relationship started five years ago when Allen posted a picture wearing a Henry shirt. Henry saw the post and reached out. The two now train together in Dallas during the offseason and talk weekly during the season.
Allen has stepped up with Breece Hall out injured. He rushed for 253 yards over three games, ranking fifth in the league over that stretch. Henry called Allen a big physical kid and praised his work in the starting role. Hall could return against the Miami Dolphins, which would move Allen back to second choice, but coach Aaron Glenn confirmed Allen will keep getting carries.
Jets Struggles Before Half Time
The Jets have struggled near the end of the first half. They have gone 15 straight games without scoring in the final two minutes of the second quarter. Under coach Aaron Glenn, they have been outscored 100 to 6 in those situations across 23 games.
The team has not scored a touchdown in the final two minutes of the first half since the 2024 season finale. That dry spell spans 658 days. The team is also 4 and 8 in one score games under Glenn.
Trade Options and Team Habits
With the trade deadline coming on November 10, general manager Darren Mougey could look to make moves. Backup cornerback Nahshon Wright and safety Andre Cisco are on one year deals and might attract interest. Edge rusher Will McDonald IV is also a name other teams like, though injuries have hurt the team depth at that position.
Off the field, defensive tackle Harrison Phillips started a new Friday tradition. He began wearing a buttoned polo shirt under his jersey to bring a business mindset to practice. Now about 20 to 30 players and some coaches join him each week.
