Injury updates for Denver
The Denver Broncos received some good news regarding star cornerback Pat Surtain II and wide receiver Pat Bryant after both players underwent MRIs. Sources indicated that both individuals avoided the worst-case scenarios with their respective injuries. Surtain suffered a noncontact ankle injury during Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
He dropped to the ground and grabbed his right foot and ankle before medical staff arrived. Personnel helped him to the locker room, and he did not return for the second half. As the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year, Surtain is the anchor of the defensive strategy every single week. Sources now expect his absence to be short-term.
Pat Bryant status
Wide receiver Pat Bryant also received evaluation results following Sunday's defeat. Bryant sprained his ankle during the match and had to leave the field on a cart. A source stated that Bryant is expected to miss a few weeks of action.
Bryant currently ranks second on the team with 133 receiving yards this season. His nine receptions tie him with Courtland Sutton for third on the squad, and he has also recorded one touchdown catch.
