Spurs earn rare win at Stamford Bridge
Tottenham Hotspur achieved only their second Premier League victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Roberto De Zerbi's side secured a big result away from home. An own goal by Mike Penders and a fine solo goal from Mathys Tel gave Spurs the win.
The victory showed clear progress for the team. However, Tottenham suffered a blow when James Maddison was forced off with an injury. Chelsea also had a tough match as Cole Palmer received his first red card, which saw Chelsea reach an unwanted red card milestone.
Dele Alli returns to watch his old team
Former Tottenham attacker Dele Alli was in attendance at Stamford Bridge. The 30 year old former England international was previously the hero during Tottenham's win at Chelsea back in 2018.
Dele, who last played during a spell with Como in the 2024 to 2025 season, teased his social media followers before the game. He asked who could guess where he was going before posting a photo of Stamford Bridge. Before the match started, he shared a selfie alongside former Chelsea captain John Terry.
Social media fun after the late goal
Dele filmed the scoreboard when Tottenham went ahead in the 77th minute. After the match was over, he poked fun at Chelsea on his Instagram story.
He posted a picture with the caption "empty seat here now" because John Terry was no longer sitting next to him. Dele clearly enjoyed seeing his former club end their Stamford Bridge hoodoo.
