A surprise free transfer

Dani Carvajal has signed with Getafe on a free transfer. The LaLiga club made the announcement on Tuesday.

The right-back was available as a free agent. He left Real Madrid in May. Carvajal has agreed to a deal that runs until the end of the season.

Getafe currently sits in 14th place in the LaLiga standings.

President confirms the deal

The arrival of the player had been a big topic of discussion in recent weeks. Getafe president Angel Torres confirmed that the club worked hard on putting the transfer together.

Carvajal is a product of the Madrid youth system. He spent just one season away from the Bernabéu, playing at Bayer Leverkusen in the 2012 to 2013 season.

A trophy-laden career

Carvajal brings plenty of experience to his new club. He won 27 trophies during his time with Real Madrid.

His impressive haul includes six Champions Leagues. He also tasted international success by winning Euro 2024 with the Spain national team.
