Defensive Struggles

The Dallas Cowboys defense has struggled early in this season. After finishing with the 30th ranked defense last year, the team has the 31st ranked defense now, allowing 395.4 yards per game under first year coordinator Christian Parker.

Following a home loss to the Buccaneers, the defensive players decided to hold a meeting. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown stated that the players went through bullet points to discuss team standards.

Differing Opinions

The meeting drew mixed reactions outside the club. Former coach Mike Tomlin expressed concern during a podcast appearance, stating that he dislikes when such meetings become public knowledge.

Dallas coach Brian Schottenheimer took a different view. He praised the players for taking initiative and noted that the feedback he received showed the meeting was productive, open, and honest.

Upcoming Changes

Coach Schottenheimer announced plans to make adjustments for the next game. Christian Parker will move to the booth, and rookie linebacker Malachi Lawrence will receive more playing time.

Pass rusher Rashan Gary explained that the group wanted to build the right habits and ensure everyone stays on the same page during the week.
