Adapting to Italy
Inter Milan midfielder Curtis Jones has settled in well since moving to the league champions from Liverpool in the summer. The twenty five year old midfielder quickly became a fan favourite in Italy. A video recently circulated on social media showing a coachload of supporters wearing masks depicting his face and singing his name.
Tackling the low block
Some fans suggest Serie A is a slower league with a lower level than English football, but Jones rejected that idea in an interview with DAZN. He said games are slower only because of how opponents approach them, adding that it was exactly the same at Liverpool. He explained that because his teams are among the strongest with the best players, opponents rarely press them and instead make things difficult with a low block, both in Italy and in England.
Fan connection and injuries
Jones also noticed a strong bond between Inter players and fans, comparing it to the special connection he always had with supporters at Liverpool. Meanwhile, the league leaders suffered an injury blow ahead of their upcoming match against Fiorentina. Scans revealed that wing back Luis Henrique sustained an adductor strain after appearing as a late substitute in the Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk, and he will likely miss matches until after the international break.
