More Woes for Palace
Crystal Palace suffered a frustrating 2-0 loss at home against Newcastle. William Osula and Harvey Barnes scored inside eleven early second-half minutes to secure the points for the visitors at Selhurst Park. This result followed a humiliating 5-0 defeat at Brighton the previous weekend.
Fans showed their frustration by booing the team off the pitch at the final whistle. Manager Pierre Sage admitted that the negative reactions from the supporters are normal because the team is not getting the expected results. He stated that outside talk is just noise and his main focus is finding solutions on the training ground.
Manager Stays Calm
Sage confirmed he spoke with chairman Steve Parish during the week. They discussed the condition of the squad and the match tactics rather than job security. When asked if the players and club hierarchy still have faith in him, Sage answered that he believes they do.
On the other side, Newcastle boss Matthias Jaissle celebrated a deserved victory. He praised the commitment of his squad after previous league losses. Jaissle believes that staying together as a unit helped them overcome recent setbacks.
