Backing from the Top

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is facing some pressure after twenty-three games on the job, but he still has the full backing of the team owners. Executive vice president Stephen Jones spoke on the radio in Dallas on Monday to confirm that ownership stands firmly behind the coaching staff. The team currently holds a 9-13-1 record under Schottenheimer and sits at 2-4 following a recent loss.

Jones stated that the players want to go out and execute properly. He mentioned that management feels good about the coaches, even though the team must continue to improve and start winning games.

Recent Struggles on the Field

The Cowboys are looking to bounce back after a 23-13 defeat against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, which marked their second consecutive loss. The offense has struggled over the past two games, scoring only 29 points in that span. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw four interceptions during these matches, and the running game currently ranks 30th in the NFL with 456 yards through six games.

Schottenheimer handles the playcalling duties and admitted that recent performances have not been good enough. However, he expressed confidence in the roster and stated that he is focused on the process of turning things around. He also noted that both he and the players are angry about the current situation.
