Como Deliver Historic Victory Against Lens

Como crushed Lens 9-1 on Wednesday night to secure a historic Champions League victory. This was only the second time a team scored nine goals in a match in the Champions League era. It was also just the third win by an eight goal margin in the history of the competition.

The Italian club achieved this result despite missing three regular starters. They currently sit in the top four of Serie A and have scored 37 goals in 14 games across all competitions this season. Manager Cesc Fabregas has led his side to impressive wins over Lens, RB Leipzig and Manchester United.

Fabregas Building a Formidable Squad

Former Barcelona and Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas is turning heads with his coaching work at Como. The squad features Anastasios Douvikas, who is the top scorer in the tournament. Douvikas joined from Celta Vigo, where he scored three LaLiga goals in his final season in Spain. He matched that total in the single match against Lens.

Nico Paz has also shined with six goals and seven assists this season. Beyond Paz, the squad relies on players like Lucas Da Cunha from their Serie B days and former Celtic loan player Álex Valle. Only two players, Trevoh Chalobah and Jesús Rodriguez, cost more than 18 million euros. Como will face PSG and Barcelona in their final two group matches.

Manchester United Fight Back Against Roma

Manchester United fought back from 2-0 down inside the first 20 minutes to beat Roma 3-2 at Old Trafford on Tuesday night. Manager Michael Carrick saw his team turn the game around as Roma failed to record a single shot on goal or a touch inside the United penalty area during the second half.

Elsewhere in Matchday 4, PSG and Real Madrid kept their perfect records with four wins from four matches at the top of the 36 team table. Fenerbahçe created a big upset by beating Liverpool, while Lamine Yamal made history as Barcelona defeated Aston Villa.
