Late drama in Milwaukee

Jackson Chourio hit a two-run single off Mason Miller with two outs in the ninth inning. The late heroics lifted the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-3 victory over the San Diego Padres.

Miller entered the game with a 3-2 lead and tried to secure a six-out save. He retired the side in the eighth, but ran into trouble in the ninth. He issued his first career postseason walks to Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick. Gary Sanchez also walked on a full count to load the bases.

Chourio then lined a fastball up the middle and past the second baseman. Yelich and Frelick both scored to complete another late comeback for Milwaukee.

Padres stumble in back-to-back losses

San Diego entered the postseason with 20 wins in its last 23 games. Now, the team faces consecutive losses for the first time since early September.

Ty France hit an RBI single in the first inning and added another run-scoring single in the seventh. Milwaukee committed three errors in the game, which helped San Diego score unearned runs.

Milwaukee is now one win away from reaching a second straight National League Championship Series. The best-of-five series will resume in San Diego, where the Padres will try to keep their season alive.
