The Glasgow Derby Rematch

Celtic and Rangers are set to face off this Sunday at Celtic Park in a massive Scottish Premiership encounter. This match comes just a week after Rangers defeated Celtic 3-0 in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals. In that cup clash, South Africa defender Olwethu Makhanya put in a strong performance for Rangers. Daniel Neil scored twice, while Kevin Kelsy added another goal and set up one of Neil's strikes.

Currently, Celtic lead their Glasgow rivals by five points at the top of the table. Despite winning all six of their opening league games, Celtic have struggled recently. They enter this match following two straight defeats, including a 3-1 loss to Ferencváros in the Europa League on Thursday.

In contrast, Rangers are in excellent form. They have won their last five games in all competitions and have conceded only one goal during that impressive run. Historically, Celtic have 56 league titles compared to 55 for Rangers, after Celtic won their 14th title out of the last 15 seasons.

Team News and Injury Updates

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill admitted his disappointment after the European defeat, stating that his team must re-energise and focus entirely on Sunday. O'Neill said that the team needs to avoid giving the ball away when they have decent possession and should take risks in the proper areas of the field.

Celtic will still be without Canada right back Alistair Johnston and forward Callum Osmand due to injuries. On loan left back Landon Emenalo is also out as he recovers from an injury picked up in training with Chelsea, while Yang Hyun-jun is away at the Asian games.

Rangers also have several injury problems. Captain Lawrence Shankland is sidelined with a long term thigh injury. Youssef Chermiti is out with an ACL injury, and Daisuke Yokota is missing with a groin issue. Midfielder Ryan Naderi is also a doubt after being on the receiving end of a heavy challenge from Mika Baur last Sunday.
