Barcelona's Incredible Start
Hansi Flick's Barcelona are currently the most in-form team in Europe. After winning LaLiga by eight points last season, the Spanish giants have started the 2026 to 2027 campaign in devastating fashion. They have won all seven of their opening matches, scoring 33 goals and conceding just seven.
Much of this success comes down to their incredible attacking depth. Raphinha and Lamine Yamal have already combined for 19 goals and seven assists across all competitions. New signings Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi have also made an instant impact, contributing three goals and six assists between them to keep the team flying.
Smart Summer Business
Barcelona's hot streak follows a highly successful summer. Eight of their players were part of Spain's World Cup winning squad, with six starting in the final match. Although winger Ferran Torres departed for PSG, the club quickly strengthened by bringing in midfielder Rodri from Manchester City.
Instead of spending a massive transfer fee on Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, Barcelona focused on building squad depth. They signed Gordon, Adeyemi, and Gabriel Jesus. Jesus has already made his mark in limited time, scoring two goals and creating two chances in just 37 minutes of play.
Tougher Tests Ahead
While Barcelona sit at the top of Europe's form charts, they have had a relatively comfortable schedule so far. Power ratings show that their toughest opponent has been Athletic Club, who are the only side to hold Barca to fewer than four goals in a match this season.
Their form will be truly tested as they head into a challenging autumn. Their upcoming schedule includes league games against Getafe and Real Betis, plus Champions League trips to Galatasaray and PSG. They will also face rivals Real Madrid on October 25.
