Strong Start for the Quarterback
Caleb Williams made his return to the field after missing the past three weeks with a hamstring injury. He showed no physical limitations as he led the Chicago Bears to a 31-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Williams completed 30 of 36 passes for 305 yards and a touchdown. He felt confident right from the start of the game.
Chicago jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Williams completed his first 12 passes, which set a career high for consecutive completions at the start of a game. Coach Ben Johnson noted that starting fast was a major goal for the team and praised the way the offense executed.
Offensive Efficiency
The Bears maintained control of the ball by converting 9 of 17 third-down attempts. This allowed the offense to stay on the field for over 40 minutes. They also improved their red zone efficiency by scoring on all four of their red zone trips, excluding a late kneel down.
Wide receiver Rome Odunze mentioned that the offense was clicking and connecting all over the field. Williams also recorded his sixth career 300-yard passing game. Teammates and coaches praised his leadership and the energy he brought back to the lineup.
