Costly fumbles in overtime win

The Buffalo Bills secured a tight 37-34 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday. Running back James Cook had a busy night but also picked up two fumbles during the match, losing one of them in overtime. That mistake brought his total to four fumbles this season and 11 since the start of 2025, including the postseason.

Cook leads the NFL in rushing yards over that same timeframe, holding 245 more yards than the closest runner. However, his 11 fumbles also stand as the most by any non quarterback in the league. Coach Joe Brady spoke to reporters on Tuesday about the situation.

Brady warns of consequences

Joe Brady praised the running back for doing many good things on the field. He noted that he does not want to lose sight of how great Cook is at running the ball. Still, Brady warned that putting the ball on the ground negates all the positive plays.

Brady stated that at some point there must be consequences for negative plays. He added that it almost cost them the game and that carries will decrease if the problem does not improve. Cook's overtime fumble happened just outside the red zone, turning a promising drive into a chance for the Rams to win before Greg Rousseau blocked the field goal.
