Bowers Makes Instant Impact After Knee Surgery

Brock Bowers made a massive impact in his regular season debut on Sunday. After undergoing a meniscus procedure and missing two weeks of action, the tight end helped the Raiders secure a 35-27 comeback victory against the Saints.

Bowers caught 10 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown at the Caesars Superdome. The Raiders had to fight back from a 27-16 deficit, and Bowers was at the center of the action. He said after the game that it felt good to be back.

The tight end had been dealing with knee pain during training camp. He underwent surgery with Dr. Daniel Cooper after the injury was diagnosed earlier this month. Bowers admitted he initially thought the pain was nothing and would go away, but he had to get it sorted before the long season.

It was also a historic afternoon for tight ends across both teams. Michael Mayer caught a touchdown for the Raiders, while Noah Fant and Juwan Johnson each scored two touchdowns for the Saints.

In total, tight ends caught six touchdowns in this game. This ties the NFL record for the most combined tight end touchdowns in a single game, a mark first set in 1981.
