Brian Daboll faces former team as Titans travel to Giants

The Tennessee Titans travel to MetLife Stadium this Sunday to face the New York Giants. This game brings plenty of reunions. The biggest story is former Giants head coach Brian Daboll returning to New York as the Titans offensive coordinator.

Daboll spent just over three seasons with the Giants. He led them to 20 wins, 40 losses, and one tie, including a playoff appearance in his first year. The Giants fired him in November 2025 after the team started with two wins and eight losses. Now, he is back with Tennessee and claims there are no hard feelings.

Daboll said he has a ton of respect for the people in the Giants organization. He is treating this like any other week in the NFL, saying that his focus is entirely on his players.

Familiar Faces and Injuries

Daboll is not the only one returning. Titans players Wan'Dale Robinson, Austin Schlottmann, Daniel Bellinger, and Cor'Dale Flott are also heading back to New York. Robinson signed a four year, 70 million dollar deal to follow Daboll to Tennessee. He said there is no bad blood between him and his former team.

Waiting for them in New York is defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson. Robinson believes the game will come down to player matchups rather than coaching schemes.

The Titans receivers could find opportunities against a weak Giants secondary. New York has used man defense on a league high 18.8% of snaps this season. However, the Titans secondary is also dealing with injuries. Cornerback Cor'Dale Flott missed last week with a quad injury but hopes to play. He is excited to compete against Giants receiver Malik Nabers.

Giants safety Tyler Nubin noted that Daboll likes to be aggressive and use tight ends. However, Titans quarterback Cam Ward has only thrown one pass of 20 yards or more this season.
