A Historic Comeback

The Milwaukee Brewers are headed to the World Series for the first time since 1982. They completed a four game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday with a 6-4 victory.

Early in the contest, things looked difficult for Milwaukee. Shohei Ohtani launched a three run home run off Dustin May to give the Dodgers a 4-0 lead.

Turning The Tide

Milwaukee answered by plating four runs to tie the game against Tyler Glasnow. William Contreras and Jake Bauers hit back to back ground rule doubles during the rally.

Garrett Mitchell then hit a go ahead solo home run in the sixth inning off Tanner Scott. David Hamilton added a solo home run in the ninth inning off Edwin Diaz to secure an insurance run.

Closing Out The Win

Manager Pat Murphy turned to his bullpen to seal the victory. JoJo Romero threw two scoreless innings and Aaron Ashby worked out of jams in the seventh and eighth on his way to a three inning save.

Jackson Chourio made a leaping catch on an Enrique Hernandez fly ball for the final out. The victory ends a forty four year wait for the franchise.

Looking Ahead

This marks the first time in postseason history that a team has swept an opponent that swept them in the preceding season. The win also gives the Brewers their first ever National League pennant.

The World Series begins on October 23 with the first ever Fall Classic game at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
