Bournemouth Beat Sparta Prague 3-1 To Reach Seven Wins In A Row

Bournemouth Come From Behind In Prague

Bournemouth won their seventh consecutive match in all competitions on Thursday after beating Sparta Prague 3-1 in the Europa League. The victory keeps their perfect record intact in the competition with four wins from four games, putting them in a strong spot to reach the last 16 directly.

The match in the Czech capital did not start smoothly for the visitors. Bournemouth missed a chance to take the lead in the first half when Lewis Cook hit the post from a penalty kick. Sparta Prague then went ahead through a fine individual goal from Gambian forward Ebrima Singhateh.

Red Card Changes The Game

The momentum shifted shortly after Sparta scored. Tobias Guddal received a second yellow card within two minutes of his side taking the lead, leaving the hosts down to ten men.

Bournemouth made full use of the extra player. In the 57th minute, Álvaro Rodríguez had his path blocked on the edge of the box. Sparta failed to clear the ball completely, and Tyler Adams arrived to hit a first time strike into the bottom corner.

The visitors pushed on and took the lead in the 81st minute. Adrien Truffert won the ball near the area before Ryan Christie set up 27 year old Evanilson, who created space and finished into the far corner. Rayan added a third goal from distance in the final minute.

Adams Praises Team Mentality

Speaking after the match to TNT, midfielder Tyler Adams stated that the team has turned a page. He recalled a 5-1 loss to Chelsea earlier in the season, noting that the squad did not want to feel that disappointment again. He explained that Bournemouth have become a more mature team in how they defend and compete.

Adams also praised Evanilson for his hard work, pointing out that the striker spends extra time practicing his finishing after training every day. He added that the squad must not get comfortable because keeping a winning standard is essential when playing every three days.
