A rocky start for the young quarterback

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is facing the rockiest start of his young career. After five games, he ranks 24th in the league in QBR and 26th in completion percentage.

Nix is coming off a game where he threw for 123 yards in a win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He also already has five fumbles this season, which is more than he had in either of his first two years.

Finding simplicity on the field

Nix spoke on Tuesday after practice about how he needs to fix his recent struggles. He admitted that he sometimes tends to overanalyze and overthink things.

Making things simple and letting the ball fly is his new focus. As Nix put it, making it simple, making things 1-2-3, and letting it play fast and roll helps him avoid overthinking.

Coaching changes and upcoming tests

Broncos coach Sean Payton has removed offensive coordinator Davis Webb as the playcaller to take over those duties himself. Payton wants to find more schemed completions for Nix to calm things down.

The Broncos now face the Seattle Seahawks on a short week. The Seahawks lead the NFL in takeaways, interceptions, and pass rush win rate, which means Nix will need all the simple reads he can get.
