Injury blow for the Pacers
Indiana Pacers guard Ben Sheppard will undergo surgery for a torn meniscus on Wednesday. Pacers coach Rick Carlisle shared the update before Indiana played the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.
Sheppard played in the season-opening 123-120 victory at New Orleans. He has not appeared in a game since that opening fixture.
Looking back at last season
The 6-foot-6 guard played a decent role for the team last year. He averaged 7.1 points per game across 65 appearances during the previous season.
Apart from Sheppard, the squad has other fitness concerns to monitor. Ivica Zubac arrived at the arena without a walking boot. He had sprained his left ankle the night before during a 136-109 triumph at Brooklyn.
More lineup updates
Coach Carlisle noted that Zubac still had a slight limp. No specific timetable has been given for the center's return to the court.
Additionally, the Pacers played their Monday night match without Andrew Nembhard. He was sidelined due to a back issue.
