Injury Blow for Chicago

The Chicago Bears made a major roster move this week. Left tackle Braxton Jones landed on injured reserve following a right knee injury he picked up against the Philadelphia Eagles during Week 3. Jones missed all practices leading up to the upcoming game against the Jets. He will have to sit out until at least November 2 when the team travels to Seattle.

Next Man Up on the Line

Coach Ben Johnson announced that Theo Benedet will step into the starting left tackle role for Sunday. Benedet spent the first three weeks sharing time with Jones. Meanwhile, Ozzy Trapilo might finally see his first active game status this season. Trapilo recovered from a ruptured patellar tendon much faster than expected after starting six games as a rookie last year.

Johnson noted that the team is currently building back Trapilo's confidence. The coach mentioned that Trapilo looked much better during Wednesday night practice in pads and clearly stood out in a positive way.
