Williams Leads The Way

The Chicago Bears held off the New England Patriots for a 30-24 victory on a night fans remembered Mike Ditka. The Bears never trailed, but they never seemed comfortable with the lead either. Quarterback Caleb Williams found ways to rescue his team when the lead was in jeopardy. Williams finished 22 of 33 for 308 yards with two touchdowns. He put up his second straight 300-yard passing game, becoming the first Bears player to achieve that since Mitchell Trubisky in 2018. Cairo Santos secured the win with a 58-yard field goal, which was the longest of his career and the third-longest in the history of Soldier Field.

Big Night For Burden

Luther Burden III caught all four of his targets and finished with 130 receiving yards and a touchdown. Every catch Burden had in the first half led to points for the Bears, including his 24-yard touchdown before halftime. Burden has solidified himself as the top receiver in the Chicago offense. He put together the third 100-yard receiving game of his career and has 250 yards after the catch this season.

Patriots Fight Back

The New England Patriots saw their three-game win streak snapped, falling to a 4-3 record while the Bears improved to 5-2. Quarterback Drake Maye finished 24 of 31 for 321 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also added four rushes for 26 yards and a rushing touchdown. The Patriots struggled with turnovers again, adding to a total of 14 giveaways this season. Coach Mike Vrabel expressed frustration about the turnover rate prior to the game.
