Record breaking start
Barcelona have won their first nine matches in all competitions for the first time in club history. They defeated Getafe 3-0 on Saturday at Camp Nou. It is also the second time they have won their first eight LaLiga matches in a season, matching the start they achieved in the 2013-14 campaign.
The team played without the injured Raphinha, who is LaLiga's top scorer this season with 12 goals. Raphinha suffered a thigh problem while on international duty with Brazil, though manager Hansi Flick has stated the injury is not serious.
Goals from new faces
Anthony Gordon opened the scoring after just two minutes at Camp Nou. Gordon also scored three times for England during the international break and has contributed four assists in LaLiga this season.
Gabriel Jesus made his debut start at center forward and scored the second goal after half an hour. Jules Koundé added a third goal in the second half to secure the win.
Hansi Flick praised the team after the match, stating that every position has two or three players of a really good level. Gabriel Jesus also spoke to reporters, mentioning that playing with his new teammates is very easy because they always have the ball at their feet.
