Double Injury Blow for Ravens
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley will miss the rest of the season after suffering a turf toe injury. Tests confirmed the bad news for the team following their recent match.
Huntley got hurt during the first half of a 36 10 loss against the Buffalo Bills. To make matters worse, starting quarterback Lamar Jackson was injured on the very first offensive play of that game with a thumb issue. Jackson is heading to injured reserve and might also miss the remainder of the season.
Rookie Steps Up in Primetime
With both senior quarterbacks out, the Ravens turned to rookie Joe Fagnano to start the upcoming Thursday night game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fagnano will be only the second undrafted rookie quarterback to start for the Ravens in their 32 year history.
Fagnano also picked up a knock during Sunday's game and wore a brace over his right ankle in training. Every game brings bumps and bruises, Fagnano said, adding that football is a physical game.
New Faces on the Bench
Fagnano made his NFL debut against the Bills by completing 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and one interception. With the rookie leading the offense on Thursday, his backups will be Austin Reed and Kedon Slovis.
Both Reed and Slovis joined the Ravens just days before the upcoming matchup. The team now prepares for a tough contest with a severely depleted quarterback room.
