Bagent Gets the Nod

Coach Ben Johnson announced on Monday that Tyson Bagent will be the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears in their upcoming Sunday game at the Green Bay Packers. Tyson will be the guy, Johnson said during a radio appearance.

This will count as Bagent's second straight start while Caleb Williams recovers from an injury. Case Keenum took the ceremonial start in Week 4 against the New York Jets, but Bagent quickly took over and led the offense.

Strong Win Against the Jets

The Bears secured a 23-12 victory against the Jets by controlling the ball. They dominated time of possession with 42 minutes and 45 seconds compared to 17 minutes and 15 seconds for the Jets. Chicago also generated 34 first downs, which was more than the total number of plays run by the Jets.

Bagent completed 25 of his 34 pass attempts for 268 yards and threw one interception. This appearance marked his first regular season start in 1,059 days.

Injury Status for Williams

Caleb Williams continues to recover from a Grade 2 hamstring injury. Medical staff estimated a recovery time of three to four weeks for the injury. Sunday's game at Green Bay will mark the third consecutive game that Williams misses due to the hamstring problem.
