Hawks dominate in Charlotte

The Atlanta Hawks extended their winning start to the season with a commanding 128-81 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday. Defensive specialist Dyson Daniels lived up to his nickname as the Great Barrier Thief by grabbing seven steals. He finished just shy of a double-double with 11 points, nine rebounds, and four assists before sitting out most of the final period.

Jalen Johnson and Aaron Wiggins top-scored for Atlanta with 19 points each. The win improves the team record to 2-0 ahead of their upcoming home opener against the Houston Rockets.

Landale plays through injury

Jock Landale also contributed to the win while wearing a protective mask. The center suffered a nasal fracture during the season-opening win at Orlando, but he appeared untroubled by the knock in Charlotte.

Landale finished the night with eight points, six rebounds, and four assists. He is playing on a one-year deal this season. Meanwhile, Naz Reid top-scored for the Hornets with 17 points as the hosts came crashing back to earth after a strong opening win.

Bulls edge past Milwaukee

In other action on Friday, the Chicago Bulls earned a 132-125 victory against Milwaukee. Josh Giddey served as the chief facilitator, recording nine assists to go with six points and four rebounds.

Norman Powell led the scoring for Chicago with 25 points, while rookie Caleb Wilson added 21. Tyler Herro scored 34 points for the opposing side in a game that was moved up four hours due to a baseball event in the city.
