Loan move going well
Ronald Araújo has admitted he is really happy to be at Liverpool following his surprise loan move from Barcelona in the summer. The defender had a challenging season previously with the La Liga champions, but he has impressed fans and staff since arriving on Merseyside.
He has played in both central defence and at right-back under the management of Andoni Iraola. Liverpool hold an option to make the signing permanent at the end of the campaign for a fee of forty seven point two million pounds.
Araújo spoke to reporters ahead of the team's upcoming European fixture. He stated that it is very early to talk about a permanent transfer. He added that he is just trying to enjoy every single day and continue to grow.
Surprised by the club
The Uruguay international admitted that the sheer size of Liverpool took him by surprise. Even though he knew the club was big, seeing the structure, the fans, and the overall dimension of the team made a huge impression on him.
He expressed gratitude to both the club staff and the supporters for welcoming him warmly. He wants to repay that kindness by giving his absolute best in every training session and in every match he plays.
Fixture news and injuries
Liverpool prepare to face Villarreal in the Champions League after winning both of their opening matches in the tournament so far. Villarreal are managed by Inigo Perez, who used to be Iraola's assistant coach at Rayo Vallecano. Iraola admitted that facing his close friend will be a strange experience, and they have not been talking as much in the build up to the game.
Meanwhile, the Reds must cope without Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong. Both players picked up injuries during the recent 2-1 victory over Brentford at the weekend. Iraola confirmed that Frimpong has a massive new injury and will likely miss action until after the international break, while the team needs to be more patient with Szoboszlai.
