A Hot Start and Defensive Woes
Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing great on offense, but the Miami Heat are struggling to win games. Antetokounmpo scored 36 points Friday night against the Detroit Pistons. This gave him 71 points through the first two games of the season, which matches the most he has ever scored in the opening two games of any year.
The problem is on the other side of the court. Miami is 0-2 after giving up a franchise-worst 259 points in the first two games. It is also the first time Antetokounmpo has appeared in the first two games of a season and his team has failed to get a win.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra spoke about the tough start. He mentioned that Antetokounmpo really cares and wants the team to work out.
Antetokounmpo noted that he did not expect things to be easy against good teams like Minnesota and Detroit. He believes that once the players trust each other and focus, both offense and defense will improve. Spoelstra added that tough times will bring the group together.
