Another Crash Near Cottingham

Hull summer signing Lucas Gourna Douath has reportedly flipped his car close to the club's training ground. The accident took place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham.

A photograph posted on social media showed a Mercedes car that had rolled onto its side on the narrow residential street. Humberside Police and emergency services were called to the scene of the single vehicle road traffic collision at around 8:30 AM.

Humberside Police released a statement confirming the incident. They stated that officers and emergency services attended the scene, and thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the collision.

Second Incident in Three Weeks

This accident comes just three weeks after another Hull player had a similar crash on the very same street. Midfielder Sorba Thomas escaped uninjured after rolling his car onto its roof on September 11.

In that previous incident, Thomas was driving a Land Rover which was pictured upside down on Millhouse Woods Lane. Now, French midfielder Lucas Gourna Douath is reported to have been the driver in this second crash. The Press Association has contacted Hull for comment on the matter.

Warnings From Local Officials

The repeated accidents on the narrow residential road have sparked concerns from local representatives. Local councillor Phil Redshaw expressed his frustration on Facebook, revealing that he had contacted the club earlier that week.

Redshaw had urged the club to remind their players and staff to drive with more care when approaching the training ground. His message was sent just days before the second accident.

"I only wrote to the club on Sunday, asking them to remind staff to drive with more care and attention when heading for the training ground!" Redshaw wrote on social media.
