Wilt Chamberlain Still Dominates the Record Books

Wilt Chamberlain holds many incredible scoring records in the NBA. During the 1961-62 season, he had a dominant stretch where he scored 60-plus points in three straight games twice within a month and a half.

Chamberlain also put together long streaks of scoring 30, 40, 50, and 60 points in consecutive games. His streak of 126 straight games with 20-plus points from 1961 to 1963 stood for decades until recently.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Breaks a Major Record

The Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recently broke one of Chamberlain's historic milestones. When he scored 20 points against the Boston Celtics on March 12th, it marked his 127th consecutive game with 20-plus points.

This impressive run broke Chamberlain's old record of 126 games. The streak for Gilgeous-Alexander is still going strong.

LeBron James Ends a Legendary Run

While some streaks continue, others eventually come to an end. In December 2025, LeBron James saw his incredible streak of consecutive games with 10-plus points stop at 1,297.

That remarkable run ended after he scored eight points in a win against the Toronto Raptors. James started that streak back in 2007.

Other Notable Scoring Streaks

Several other basketball greats put together long scoring runs over the years. Michael Jordan had 866 consecutive games with 10-plus points from 1986 to 2001, followed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 787 games.

Other notable names on the list for double digit scoring include Karl Malone with 575 games and Kevin Durant with 562 games. James Harden also had a notable run of 32 straight games with 30-plus points during the 2018-19 season.
